My Life and Hope in this Crisis

Lisa Snyder   -

Over a month ago I would never have dreamed we would be in a quarantine and seeing what we would be facing in our nation right now.  During this time I have had some anxious moments. I would have never thought that going to the grocery or work I would be having to wear a mask to do those things that would be normal in my everyday life. Then hoping I wouldn’t bring the virus into my home.

It is difficult not being able to see family, friends, my church family and co workers. As most of you know, I’m a very social person so I really miss that daily contact with everyone! I go to Deuteronomy 31:8 – “He will never leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

We usually live a very busy life, so if anything it has slowed us down some and we are getting some things done outside that we haven’t had time to do in a long time. I am trying to focus more on happier things. I am taking more time for Bible reading and prayer.

I’m hoping that families are able to reconnect more than they ever have and are able to have those conversations around the table which doesn’t always happen due to everyone’s busy schedules and those devices that can distract us all.

I love seeing how people are coming together to help their fellow man in so many ways and the love shown to all of our first responders, health care workers, and all of our public servants putting their lives on the line for all of us.

I pray when this is over we will continue to be more of a compassionate society who hugs their loved ones a little tighter and that people will come to the Lord more than ever. I pray that our churches will be over flowing with people who have found Christ during this difficult time. I miss my church family so much and can’t wait until we can gather together again. Stay safe!! Love, Lisa 🙏💕
